The Restored Garden of the Shoin Sasunoma
|
|
This garden is located in the south of the Shoin Sasunoma and is completely at one with the buildings around it. The characteristics of this garden are as follows:
- Unique space arrangement and type: This garden consists of variously shaped exposed rocks, Ryukyu pine trees and intricately planted cycads, a rare form in the history of the Japanese garden.
- A garden against the backdrop of a blue sky: A rare example among the gardens in Japan
- A Garden with a creeping pine tree: A Chinese envoy described this garden in his report called " Ryukyukoku-shiryaku" as one where pine trees and cycads are intricately planted. A creeping pine tree is a short pine tree which spreads as if it is creeping over the ground.
